|
| General Information |
| Below you will find some of the answers
to the questions you maybe asking yourself. |
|
Who is the service for?
Our services are for injecting drug users who are experiencing
problems resulting from their continued use of drugs
and who wish to achieve a drug free lifestyle. It is
particularly helpful to people who require detoxification
and who are unable to access or sustain other drug services
in the community and who require the higher levels
of support that are available in a residential project.
|
| |
|
What can it provide?
This service provides an assessment of drug
use prior to admission together with pre-admission support
groups. On admission the main aspects of the service
are detoxification from drugs, respite care from drug
misuse and the associated lifestyle, and short term
rehabilitative programmes aimed at promoting a drug
free lifestyle. Ongoing reviews are held with referring
agencies with a view to preparing a suitable individual
plan after discharge.
|
| |
|
Where is
it provided?
Our service is based in Helensburgh in Red Tower.
|
| |
How can I
request these services?
Our services can be accessed by contacting the Project
Manager directly for information or by contacting the
Social Work Department and requesting an assessment
of needs. The Social Work Department will undertake
an assessment to identify need and suitablity.
|
| |
|
Is there a charge?
There is a charge. The charge will vary from
centre to centre. The Social Work Department will meet
most of the cost and clients are required to make a
contribution. This will be fully explained by the Manager
prior to a placement being offered. |
| |
|
How long will I have to wait?
This is dependent on various factors. For example the
project may have no vacanices. If the project does have
a vacancy then as soon as the social worker involved
carries out the various assessments and you are happy
to move into the project, then you can do so. On average,
people would be admitted to the project within six weeks
of the formal agreement of the social worker.
