Help us to put the FUN in fundraising!
Virtual Kiltwalk 2021: CHERLYN
We're lucky to have a number of fantastic individuals getting involved in the Virtual Kiltwalk on the 23rd - 25th April to raise funds for their services!
Cherlyn Fraser is Team Leader at Riddrievale House. She has set herself the serious challenge of completing 3 10k's in 3 days. She says:
"I’m taking on a Kiltwalk to raise funds for our service. Riddrievale House is a respite service that supports individuals with learning and physical disabilities. We would love to upgrade our gardens for all our service users to enjoy when they are on their stay. We would love to create an outdoor exercise area and some vegetable beds for them to plant their very own vegetables and to watch them grow at each returning visit."
VIRTUAL KILTWALK 2021: HANNAH & ALASDAIR
Hannah works for GHSS as a Relief Support Worker. She says:
"I was inspired to take part in this year’s Virtual Kiltwalk; I wanted to focus on improving my mental and physical wellbeing, and be more active. I’m cycling from Partick to Loch Lomond and back, and fundraising on Just Giving, doing the Virtual Kiltwalk with my partner. There has been many challenges we have all had to face over the course of the year; I am hoping that we can use the funds I raise to organize something fun for all the people we support at GHSS; maybe an outing on the minibus, or something that can be brought into the service, once the restrictions have lessened."
VIRTUAL KILTWALK 2021: SUSAN
Susan is the Project Manager of our Lanark service. She walked the last regular Kiltwalk for us back in 2019, and now she's back for more! She says:
"The resilience of the service users and staff through Covid-19 strict restrictions has been amazing, this is what has influenced me to want to see service users and staff have some fun when we are out of Lockdown. We are hoping to use the funds to treat the service users, to arrange a big summer BBQ day. I have been training and walked 28 miles. I will walk 13 mile and then on Sunday I am doing a fancy dress Peaky Blinders quiz night in the evening with family from England and Scotland. The two services are taking part too with a walk round block in their Kilts and other service doing a dance off and other activities so I am hoping to join in some of their planned activities too as part of this fundraiser."
