Volunteering
Find out for yourself how rewarding volunteering can be
About
From building friendships and widening your networks to the feelgood factor that comes from giving your time to help those who are vulnerable, there are hundreds of different reasons why people choose to volunteer for The Mungo Foundation.
Our volunteers tend to fall into one of three categories.
- Volunteering within one particular service
- Corporate Volunteers
- Volunteering for one-off campaigns / fundraisers

"I volunteer for the buzz. I love it. If I can make somebody laugh or smile, that’s me. Planting the potato crop was a favourite moment – and we harvested it, and had it for dinner." (June at Riddrievale)
Volunteering within a Service
Volunteering within a service allows people to develop lasting relationships with those we support, and learn new career-boosting skills along the way.
Safeguarding those we support is one of our highest priorities. As a result volunteers based within services need to complete a PVG assessment before they can begin their volunteer journey.
Corporate Volunteering
Want to make a difference to people’s lives, and see your colleagues in a whole new light? Why not consider corporate volunteering!
The work that one team is able to achieve in one day can have a lasting impact on the lives of those we support. Whether it’s sprucing up the garden or doing a bit of DIY, corporate volunteering can be a really satisfying way to build camaraderie within your team, whilst simultaneously giving back to the community.
