Ravenswood
Offering temporary accommodation and tenancy support to adults with additional support needs in Kirkintilloch.
About
Based in Kirkintilloch, Ravenswood is a residential support service for people who are at risk of / have experience of homelessness. It’s a safe, supportive environment where people can gain in skills and confidence, and start to plan the rest of their lives.
Alongside accommodation, we help our residents with other things as well. If you experience mental health issues, alcohol / substance misuse issues or require support with learning disabilities, we’re here to help. We provide individualised, outcome-based support; it it unique to you, and is geared towards giving you the skills to secure and maintain your own tenancy in the future.
If you’re hoping to study, or get a job, we can help with that too, building bridges with wider support networks and agencies who can help open those doors for you.
Our staff team offer one to one support; you and your named key worker will set and work towards positive outcomes, addressing things like debt management and budgeting, in order to equip you to live more independently in the future. In addition to this we lead fun and meaningful group-work activities, like the Ravenswood Camera Club, and running groups, where you can challenge yourself, and try new things, in a relaxed, supportive environment.
Our main base in Kirkintilloch is a purpose-built residence with 11 self-contained flats inside it. We also have 3 houses of multiple occupancy in Milngavie and Bearsden where residents live more independently, but still receive some support from staff.
The service is for adults who are 16+; we can accommodate individuals, couples and families (including children under 16, as part of a family).
How To Get Involved
If you (or someone you know) want to access Ravenswood, you need to be referred to us via East Dunbartonshire council’s Homeless team. You can reach them HERE.
What People We Support Say:
“The staff are a great support and always listen to what I have to say, my opinion matters. My flat is amazing, and it’s all mine. I like it when I close the door at night and know I’m safe.” C.W.
