Cherrywood
Helping adults with complex support needs to live healthy, meaningful lives.
About
At our Cherrywood Project we support up to nine adults who have complex support needs, including profound and multiple learning disabilities (PMLD), severe learning disabilities and associated physical disabilities.
Tucked away in a quiet area in Renfrewshire the service is spread across two purpose built bungalows which are joined together by a charming shared garden where we grow flowers, fruit, vegetables and herbs.
Our staff are diligent, knowledgeable and patient; they take the time to really get to know our residents, using innovative approaches to overcome communication barriers. We work closely with those we support and their families, putting their voices, preferences and wishes are at the heart of everything we do. This person-led approach ensures that our residents are able to live healthy, happy, meaningful lives.
Cherrywood is home for our residents, and our team endeavour to create a comfortable, safe and relaxing environment, where they can live with dignity. We have a sensory room and art room onsite, and a specially adapted minibus which enables residents to get out and about and pursue their interests, like swimming classes, clubs, concerts and meeting friends. Alongside daytrips we also support our residents to enjoy longer getaways and try new things, from quiet cottage holidays to soaking up the sun on Blackpool pier.
How to get involved
If you or someone you know would like to move in to Cherrywood, they need to be referred to us by Renfrewshire Council’s Social Work Department. A Care Manager will then get in touch with you to find out more about your needs, and whether we are able to meet those needs. After that we will meet with the family/carers to discuss a gentle introduction to the service, followed by a full move in. If you have any questions about this, feel free to contact us using the details below.
The service is staffed 24 hours a day. Our staff will always be there to provide discreet, professional care whenever it’s needed.

From petting zoo visits to time in our dedicated sensory room, we’re very proactive, with lots on offer for residents.
Support to go on Holiday
We can give you the support you need to get away and explore somewhere new.
Regular Daytrips / Outings
Alongside in-house activities, we’re regularly out and about as well, like this time we visited the D-Day Squadron at Prestwick on the 75th anniversary of the D-Day landings.
